Pambukilo hitmaker and social media personality Abraham Zika, popularly known as Bramo, is expected to appear before the Lusaka Magistrates Court today as his trial begins.
The case involves an allegation made by his mother, Beauty Masumbuko, following an incident said to have occurred on May 18, 2026.
According to the allegations before the court, Zika threatened to cause violence against his mother while allegedly wielding a machete.
He is further accused of uttering words to the effect that he would kill her, an incident which allegedly caused Masumbuko distress.
The matter is proceeding to trial after the Director of Public Prosecutions rejected an application to have the case withdrawn.
The request for the charges to be discontinued had reportedly been made by Masumbuko herself.
Zika is facing one count of threatening violence.
The case now moves into the trial stage before the Lusaka Magistrates Court, where the allegations will be heard and determined through the court process.
